Early Life
On the day of July 24th, 1783, Juan Vicente Bolivar and Maria de la Concepcion Palacios had a young boy by the name of Simon Jose Antonio de la Santisima Trinidad Bolivar y Palacios Ponte y Blanco or as we know him, Simon Bolivar. Bolivar was born with a rich family, who got all their money from abundant gold and copper mines that they owned. Mrs. Bolivar was unable to nurture Bolivar due a tragic sickness, so Simon was raised by two black slaves. At the age of 3, his dad died, and 6 months later his mom died, leaving poor Simon orphan. His uncle, Carlos Palacios, inherited all of the wealth and took care of orphan Simon. He ran away from home years after and found refugee at Simon Rodriguez house who was a mentor figure throughout his life.
